October 4 – 5, 2019 – 37th Annual West Point Crab Carnival – West Point

The West Point, Virginia Crab Carnival is sponsored by the West Point Chamber of Commerce. Crab Carnival holds a special place in the hearts of all Tidewater community members as a joyous celebration of the Town of West Point's history and a great fall festival.

October 5, 2019 – Yorktown Wine Festival – Yorktown

Whether you consider yourself a wine connoisseur or an aspiring novice—you don’t want to miss our grand tasting. Not only will you sample some of Virginia’s finest vino, but we’ll take your palate on a trip around the world! October 5, 2019 – Powhatan’s Festival of the Grape – Powhatan

October 10 – 13, 2019 – Suffolk Peanut Fest – Suffolk 

This year marks the 42nd Anniversary of Suffolk, Virginia's premier festival. This family-friendly event honors the city's agriculture heritage and devotion to peanuts, our favorite legumes. Known for its fun family activities, Suffolk Peanut Fest offers concerts, amusement rides, contests and competitions, a demolition derby, motorcycle rally, shrimp feast, fireworks and much more. Combine all of these great activities with local and national entertainment and you have a weekend full of good times!

October 11 – 13, 2019 – Hands & Harvest Festival – Highland County

October 12, 2019 – 47th Annual Chincoteague Island Oyster Festival

The Chincoteague Oyster Festival is held to promote the seafood industry and mark the arrival of the oyster season. Come and enjoy oysters—raw, steamed, fritters, and single fried; clam fritters, clam chowder, shrimp cocktail, salad bar, hot dogs, hushpuppies, and Boardwalk fries.

October 12, 2019 – Chesapeake Wine Festival – Chesapeake

October 19, 2019 – Breaux Vineyards Harvest Celebration – Purcellville

Come and celebrate the end of a bountiful harvest season with us! We will have King Street Oyster Bar here for this fun-filled two-day event to bring you oysters in 6 different varieties. From salty to sweet, robust to delicate, you will want to try them all! Oysters will be sold raw, topped, and grilled. Lobster rolls, crab cakes, and spiced shrimp will be available for purchase. Everyone knows that oysters pair perfectly with wine! Wine tastings will be available all day. We will also have 3 Fires Oven with their delicious wood-fired pizzas. There will be live music on both days as well as craft vendors selling their wares on site!

October 19 – 20, 2019 – Fall Town Point Virginia Wine Festival – Norfolk

Experience Hampton Roads’ most anticipated Wine Festival of the fall season along the Downtown Norfolk Waterfront. October 19 – 20, 2019, Virginia Beach Craft Beef Festival – Virginia Beach

More than 60 craft beers from more than 30 breweries will be available for sampling at the Virginia Beach Craft Beef Festival. Tickets include unlimited sampling, a commemorative cup, and live music. Festival is held under an Octoberfest-style tent on the beach at 30th Street.

October 20, 2019 – Bay Seafood Festival – Kilmarnock

Now in its 28th year, come “Party with a Purpose”! Bay Seafood Festival is an all-you-care-to-eat festival with great dance music that raises funds for a variety of non-profits throughout the River Realm. October 21 – 27, 2019 – Richmond Restaurant Week - Richmond

For two weeks of every year, Richmond Restaurant Week offers diners the opportunity to experience a three-course meal at the city’s best, locally owned restaurants for less than $30.

With dozens of Richmond’s best locally-owned restaurants participating, you’ll want to make more than one reservation. October 26, 2019 – Blacksburg Brew Do - Blacksburg

The 11th Annual Blacksburg Brew Do will take place on Saturday, October 26, 2019 from noon – 5pm, with Premium Admission beginning at 11am. The festival welcomes back the best in craft brewers from the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond, offering another outstanding selection of ales, lagers, pilsners, stouts, ciders and more. Delicious food, cooking and brewing demonstrations and live entertainment complement a great day of beer tasting. Proceeds from this event benefit The Blacksburg Partnership, a non-profit organization working to enhance the quality of life in Blacksburg.

October 27, 2019 – Harvest Stew & Stout Festival – Henrico

For 2019, we are opening up Harvest Stew & Stout to all types of stews! Vegetarian, Brunswick, Gumbo – we want them all! We are excited to announce the official location of this year’s festival is Dorey Park, 2999 Darby Town Road, Henrico, VA, at Shelters 1 & 2. The Harvest Stew & Stout Festival supports the Enrichmond Foundation’s mission of serving Richmond’s people, parks and public spaces.

October 31 – November 3, 2019 – Fire, Flour & Fork – in and around Richmond

Named one of the top 3 food festivals in the nation by USA Today in March 2019, and garnering press coverage in Bon Appetit, Fire, Flour & Fork comes back for a sixth year in Richmond, with more than 25 dinners, events, behind-the-scenes tours and talks.

November 1 – 2, 2019 – 62nd Annual Urbanna Oyster Festival - Urbanna

In 1958, a group came before Town Council and requested $150 to help with activities of Urbanna Days. The request was approved. In 1961, the name was changed to the Urbanna Oyster Festival, and the festival was designated as the “official” Oyster Festival of the Commonwealth in 1988. The festival is sponsored by the Urbanna Oyster Festival Foundation, a non-profit organization promoting educational and civic events throughout the year.

November 9, 2019 – Richmond Cider Celebration – Richmond

Richmond kicks off Virginia Cider Week right! As the first event of this state-wide celebration, the Richmond Cider Celebration draws cideries and attendees from across Virginia. 

Cider Celebration features Virginia cideries and their representatives, as well as local food and artisan vendors. Tastings and full pours are available. We are excited to announce the official location of this year’s event is Scott’s Addition, 1320 Summit Ave, Richmond, VA.
